As we’re all gearing up for the rapidly approaching 2012 Farmers’ Market season, I wanted to let you know about some new things.
Firstly, there is a new coffee offering. My Brazil Espresso Roast now comes from the Poco Fundo Cooperative. This is a certified organic and Fair Trade coffee that is also naturally processed. I love to work with cooperatives because I truly believe they are one of the best ways to empower people. I also love natural process coffees. This coffee is the best of both.
Secondly, I’ve updated the partners page to include two new resellers of Three Bears Coffee.
If you happen to live in or near Sevierville, stop into Rabbit Food natural foods store. Donna Patroni has created a wonderful little shop to supply the Sevier County community with the best local, natural, and organic foods, and Three Bears is happy to be part of it.
And if you haven’t already heard about Knoxville’s best mobile food truck, let me highly recommend Savory and Sweet Truck. Byron and Kiki Sambat are preparing some of the most delicious food in the area and serving Three Bears Coffee along with it. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter to see where to catch up with them.
Lastly, there are a couple of new links on the Coffees page of my website if you’re interested in learning more about the coops that I work with. There are a lot of people doing great work and I’m happy to be working with some of them.
Keep posted to the blog for more updates as Market time nears. I look forward to seeing everybody!
P.S. I also include a picture of the “real” Three Bears on the website. Enjoy!

Well, we are moving right along through 2012 even if we aren’t having much winter weather and I hope everyone is having a good new year so far.
January has been a planning month. Lots of coffee growing regions have harvested and shipped their coffees and those are now available. I’m getting stocked up for the beginning of market season! There will be a couple of new selections that I’ll be keeping you posted about.
Also, there is much needed maintenance on the Coffee Wagon being done as well as outfitting it with some new systems and layouts. I’ll be keeping you posted about those developments as well.
If anyone has been needing to get a coffee jar refill please drop me an email or give a call. I’d be happy to make a delivery or make arrangements for you to stop by and see the roastery and pick up some beans. Don’t go without Three Bears Coffee just because the Farmers’ Market is off season! Remember, too, that you can pick up Three Bears at Just Ripe in the Daylight Building downtown.
Thanks for your support!

Here’s a reminder to everyone that the 2011 Market Square Farmers’ Market season is coming to a close this Saturday December 17. Come down and enjoy a cup of coffee while perusing some of the area’s wonderful growers and craftspeople.
During the winter season all of my coffees will be available at Just Ripe in the Daylight Building on Union Avenue. They have a great selection of groceries and specialty items from our region’s finest producers, as well as prepared foods and grab and go soups, salads, and sandwiches. Plus, you can enjoy a cup of Little Bear Blend coffee with your scone or breakfast burrito!
For all my jar exchange customers there will be a monthly (maybe biweekly) drop off on Wall Street near the Market Square stage. Check back on my blog or on Facebook for details and times. Feel free to contact me to schedule a delivery at your convenience if the drop off times don’t suit you. Don’t go without Three Bears Coffee this winter!
Lastly, I’d like to express my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make my first market season such a success. Having a new business is filled with excitement and anxieties, but I’m so grateful to have gotten such a positive response. I’m very proud of who I work with (locally and globally) and I’m very enthusiastic about what I’m doing, and it’s so fantastic to see that others enjoy the efforts.
Thank you all so much, and I’ll look forward to seeing you soon!

This weekend has some changes and some exciting things in store.
First up – my spot at the Farmers’ Market has changed. Because of the ice rink on Market Square, me and the Coffee Caravan have been moved. The new location is near the corner of Clinch and Market Street (caddy-cornered from the East TN History Center). This will be where to find me for these last two markets, as well as for the Holiday Markets (I think). Come out and see me!
Secondly – This Sunday is the Just Ripe Half-Birthday Party! The event will be from 2-8pm and will feature special presentations as well as lots of local vendors to talk to, myself included. I’ll have a little slideshow presentation from our trip to Nayarit, Mexico, and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Come out and celebrate!
I hope to see you all soon!

Tomorrow looks to be a wonderful day to be outside. I’ll be at Market Square from early til 2pm with lots of coffee to start your day (or just to keep it going!). The limited Kenya Nyeri Tegu is still available by the cup and whole bean. It’s really a spectacular coffee. Be sure to come try some before it’s gone! I look forward to seeing everybody. Thanks for your support!
